Meeting the Hand of God

I have no idea why it took me so long to load this -- but the video below is one of the greatest moments of my life. At the Olympics, I was introduced to Diego Maradona (THANK YOU ADAM AND JARED!!!) in the stands at men's game v. Argentina...check it out. I grew up watching this guy with my dad...it was hands down, the most nervous I have ever been to meet somebody.     Couldn't have said it any better. The "Hand of God" was many many years ago (didn't know it was '86!), but it remains close to every Argentine's heart... like it was yesterday.

  He's not just any coach. He's coaching la Albiceleste, the national team. His first match in charge was a friendly against Scotland in Glasgow, and Scotland assistant Terry Butcher was on the pitch for England during that infamous match. Interestingly enough, the Tartan Army has paid tribute to him on a number of occasions in order to needle the English. ;-) Maxi Rodríguez gave la Albiceleste the victory in the eighth minute.
  
  I actually have his autobiography in the original español rioplatense. "Yo Soy El Diego." Man, he is quite sure of himself! It's interesting to understand the thoughts of this mystery wrapped in a riddle wrapped in an enigma.
  
  Another interesting angle is that his daughter just got knocked up by Sergio Agüero, "El Kun." El Kun and Lionel Messi (and, to a lesser extent, Carlos Tévez and Javier Mascherano) are currently viewed as the saviours of the national side. Of course, they seem to have found ways to blow it in recent years. ;-)

  i def have to agree with you Maradona is the man when it comes to soccer. im not a fan of watching it on tv but i love to watch old videos of him playing, he is just simplying amazing....now you know how ppl feel when they get to meet you cuz i know i would be nervous as hell and would be one of the best moments of my life
