Astros Player Has Hilarious Comment On Jeremy Pena’s Popularity
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros got a chance to celebrate their World Series title on Monday as fans poured into the streets of downtown Houston to salute their team at the championship parade.

At the center of the Astros’ run was shortstop Jeremy Pena.

Pena was given the shortstop job after Carlos Correa‘s departure and did not skip a beat.

The 25-year-old rookie hit .345 in the postseason with four home runs, eight RBI, and a 1.005 OPS.

Pena earned MVP honors for both the ALCS and World Series.

So naturally, Pena has become pretty popular in the City of Houston.

His Astros teammate, Mauricio Dubon, even claimed to have seen at least 100,000 signs from fans asking for Pena to marry them.

Astros Fans Express Love For Pena

Pena’s popularity has become widespread in Houston.

He had big shoes to fill after Correa’s departure, but he took the shortstop job and ran with it.

Now, he’s a hero in Houston, having earned ALCS and World Series MVP honors, and his popularity has grown to the point where some fans would like to marry him, at least according to Dubon.

Fans clearly love him and are thrilled to have him manning the shortstop position.

During the regular season, Pena hit .253 with 22 homers and 63 RBI.

But it is his postseason heroics that have put him on such a pedestal in the City of Houston.

Astros fans fell in love with him right from the start, and now it appears that fans love him even more, and rightfully so.
