Matt Hardy provided an update on Jeff Hardy‘s contract status.

Jeff Hardy has been sidelined in recent weeks, as he suffered a broken nose during his match against Sammy Guevara at the AEW Rampage taping on February 14. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) recently reported that Jeff Hardy’s contract was set to expire in the spring, based on what Jeff told other talent at recent conventions. Sapp noted that AEW could likely extend the time on the deal.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt was asked about the report regarding Jeff Hardy’s contract.

“I think that is accurate, though,” Matt Hardy said. “So I give Fightful their flowers. I think that is accurate. It’s coming up a lot sooner than we thought it was going to come up. I guess it could be extended if need be. Once again, I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know what they’ll do.

“It seems like, from what I know and what I’m aware of, because when they offered me a deal, they offered Jeff a deal at the same time, and they were very similar, and his date was a lot earlier than we thought. So yeah, that report is pretty accurate.”

Matt recently parted ways with AEW in April after his contract expired in March. He made his return to TNA at TNA Rebellion. Matt later confirmed that he was still a free agent.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Matt Hardy On Jeff Hardy’s Contract

In an interview with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of WrestleMania weekend, Matt Hardy was asked about The Hardys potentially restructuring their deals so the dates lined up. Matt noted that Jeff still had time on his deal due to injury, but “that’s just a conversation I guess we’ll have at some point.”
